The Dynamic Foundation Senior Calligraphy Exhibition

Opening Ceremony

Event Information

Translation:

In order to help preserve and pass on the cultural legacy of Chinese calligraphy, The Dynamic Foundation plans to hold a “Chinese Calligraphy Study Class” for the enjoyment of Northern California Bay Area’s Chinese senior calligraphy enthusiasts; and to offer them a platform to observe, study, and learn this ancient artistic tradition.

We hope the class will be able to spread the importance of this cultural tradition to Bay Area Chinese seniors, as well as to expand the community of calligraphy enthusiasts.  The class will take place during the opening ceremony of the Senior Calligraphy Exhibition in the first-floor event hall at The Dynamic Foundation on Friday, March 21, 2014 from 2:00-3:30pm in the afternoon.  Special guest Mr. Sun Lijie (孫禮傑) will be showcasing more than eighty pieces of his personal works, including: vertical wall scrolls, horizontal wall scrolls, hand fans, framed works, etc. in clerical script (lìshū 隸書), regular script (kǎishū 楷書), running/semi-cursive script (xíngshū 行書), and cursive script (cǎoshū 草書) styles in grand display.
