September 2012 Update

Longde County Yanghe Yu-Lang Hope Kindergarten

Date of Visit: September 21, 2012

Purpose of Visit: Project Completion

Grades: K1-K2 (2 classes total)

The campus is very spacious. The school building is elegant, built with high quality construction and materials. Chuanhe Village (the school’s location) in Yanghe Township is home to many Hui ethnicity ecomigrants. These villagers were moved here, through government arrangements, from the valleys to this completely new village. As the old kindergarten was further away, parents were reluctant on sending their children there. However, the new kindergarten, which has been in use since September 17th, now has 42 students. The four classrooms can hold up to 100 students. The school kitchen has all necessary amenities, including: a refrigerator, a freezer, a stove, and cupboards.
