The Dynamic Foundation is a nonprofit organization established in California in 1999 by its founder, Ms. Hsiu-Ning Shih, on behalf of the Shih family and in memory of her father, Professor Yu-Lang Shih of National Taiwan Ocean University. To honor Professor Shih’s lifelong dedication to education, the foundation is strongly committed to public service as well as cultural preservation.

With a goal to give back to society, the foundation has long devoted itself to various charitable causes. Since its inception, the foundation has placed considerable focus on the spiritual well-being of elderly Chinese Americans by regularly organizing culture-related lectures, art exhibitions, calligraphy classes and other interactive activities in the San Francisco Bay Area. By doing so, the foundation strives to provide a fulfilling and meaningful learning platform to help elevate their quality of life as well as preserve cultural traditions.

From 2003 to 2016, the foundation established 102 Hope schools in remote areas of China, consisting of elementary schools, kindergartens and middle schools. Hope schools provide countless children with stable educational opportunities while also promoting local educational development. Since 2018, the foundation has also set up a meal service program in the agricultural region of Chattarpur District in Madhya Pradesh, India. These meal services help train local service workers and provide nutritious lunches as well as medical support to children of impoverished families, aiding them in healthy growth and development.

Since its founding year, The Dynamic Foundation has also continuously published “The Dynamic Foundation Quarterly [石氏基金會季刊]“ four times a year. Distributed to the foundation’s senior members and friends of the foundation, the newsletter encourages members to share their life experiences through their article submissions. The newsletter not only documents the foundation’s senior activities, but it also strengthens camaraderie and promotes cultural exchange amongst the seniors.

Over the years, The Dynamic Foundation has upheld its founding principles and operated unwaveringly, passing on culture and repaying society. We hope that our efforts, care and goodwill will persist…
